GREEN SMOOTHIES


Green smoothies. I think a lot of people already know about this green drink. The first time i had ever heard of the green smoothie is by Mascha, a (very popular) Dutch beauty blogger. She wrote about it a few years ago. In LA they've been very popular for quite a while a now. Here in Holland the trend isn't as big as it is in the US, but there are still a lot of people i know who've heard about this drink.

I love drinking it. It's super healthy and delicious. You might not think that it tastes very nice.. but it really does! It's not only quite tasty, but also very beneficial for the skin, hair and overall health (they're full of antioxidants and phytonutrients). Because of these minerals, vitamins and other nutrients it will also help boost your energy level.
I've been kind of lazy with making these smoothies, but when i do make them i like to play around with different ingredients. Sometimes i'll make a red or purple smoothie (i'll put a lot of strawberries or blackberries in it).

Some benefits:
* Better looking skin
* Energy boost
* Increases fiber intake


What do i put in my green smoothie?
It's really up to you. As far as veggies you can use: Kale, Spinach, Collard Leaves, etc. You can use any type of leafy vegetable you like. And also for fruit you could use whatever you want. Bananas, blueberries, blackberries, apples, mangos, etc. The choices are endless! However, i wouldn't just throw some random things in (that's something i read on Mascha's blog. Click HERE to see her blog post about it), so maybe per smoothie have 1 type of fruit and 1 type of vegetable.

What i love about these smoothies is that it's a very easy and effective way to get your daily proportion of veggies and fruit!
